After a break for a couple of years Ian started to race short circuit throughout the South West, he achieved a lot of championship wins as a star grade driver for many years. In 2002 Ian was involved with Colin White, Ian painted and pit crewed Colin's Ascar at Rockingham motor speed way. When working within the CWS team, Colin achieved a respectable 2nd in the championship at Rockingham after a high speed crash at 180 mph in the last round. Ian then got involved with karting which he has been involved with for the last 6 years. Ian had raced NKRA for 2 years when a big crash at Forestedge bought an abrupt end to his driving. From this point on Ian mechaniced for Gemma and then proceeded on to set up Rapid Motorsport, where we are today.
Ian is very much a family man, and in recent years Ian and Amanda (his wife) have become qualified and registered foster careers, of which both Ian and Amanda find very rewarding. Their interests away from karting include travelling the world and learning about diffrent cultures. For Ian in particular, he enjoys Scuba Diving with young Steven Andrews.
